For friendship

I love yellow roses – they’re a symbol of friendship. The spouse brought this one home for me last week, after a crazy derby committee meeting (is there another sort?). Here’s to keeping it alive!

He was 21, once.

We hit ten years in December this year… it seems like yesterday that we kissed in a dodgy student pub.

It’s okay, I’m not going to go all gushy about him, not today, at least. Just thinking… remembering… getting excited…

He got his Masters Degree this week, too, by the way. So proud!

I did it!

I gave blood!

If you’re in Australia and are able to, do it. It’s free and a fabulous way to give back to the community. In this month I’ve had two friends deliver bubs who have needed special care and attention… it made me feel powerless. This is something that I was able to do to help people in the same situation as my friends… it truly is the gift of life.

My league organised a group of us to give blood together – lots of laughs, cuddles, support and an impromptu tea party afterwards. An excellent way to start this new endeavour!

Roller derby – bringing the community together!
